Victoria Settlement National Historic Site

In 1862, on the North Saskatchewan River, Reverend George McDougall founded a Methodist mission to the Cree, named Victoria for the Queen. In 1864, the Hudson's Bay Company arrived, opening Fort Victoria to trade with the Cree. It was a bustling English-speaking Métis community that stretched six miles along the river. All that remains today are the 1864 Clerk's Quarters and the 1906 Methodist Church. Join us for a special musical Jamboree on Sunday July 5/09 at 1pm. For more information call 780-656-2333
